HILLSBOROUGH – A pair of intersections in Hillsborough are scheduled to be converted to all-way stop designs next week.
The West King Street junctions with Hassel and Wake streets currently feature a two-way stop design, with continuous traffic flow on King Street. In cooperation with the Town of Hillsborough, N.C. Department of Transportation Traffic Services plans to install stop signs on King Street at both intersections on Thursday, weather permitting.
The new configuration is intended to improve safety, addressing a lack of sight distance from Wake and Hassel streets onto King Street.
Drivers should slow down and be mindful of the crews working along West King Street on Thursday.
