MOUNT HOLLY – The N.C. Department of Transportation closed a bridge on N.C. 273 near Dutchmans Creek in Mount Holly over the weekend as a safety precaution after heavy rains moved through the region.
Engineers inspected the bridge and found damage to an approach slab, warranting the closure.
While repairs are underway, drivers will detour along N.C. 27 and N.C. 16, returning to N.C. 273.
With favorable weather, repairs could take up to two weeks.
