CHARLOTTE – Rail crossing work by Norfolk Southern will briefly close a short section of Old Dowd Road just west of Charlotte Douglas International Airport early next week.
The closure in the area of Walkers Cove Trail and Marshall Acres Drive is expected to start about 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24. The road should reopen the following evening.
Drivers can get around the closure by using Sam Wilson Road, U.S. 74 (Wilkinson Boulevard) and Marshall Drive. They are encouraged to watch for road closure signs and anticipate needing more time to travel through the area because of the detour.
