SALISBURY – An exit ramp and lanes of Interstate 85 North are scheduled to be closed this weekend for state contractors to work on repairing the concrete pavement.
Weather permitting, the ramp from Innes Street onto I-85 North and the right two northbound lanes of I-85 near Exit 76 will close at 10 p.m. Sunday.
The ramp is expected to reopen at 6 a.m. Monday. While the ramp is closed, drivers will be detoured to follow I-85 South to Jake Alexander Boulevard (Exit 75) to access I-85 North.
The right lanes are expected to remain closed near the Innes Street interchange until 6 a.m. March 8. Traffic will be shifted to the inside shoulder to maintain two open lanes along this stretch of I-85 North.
Drivers should slow down and be cautious when approaching the Innes Road exit and allow extra time for the overnight detour.
