Lane Closure Upcoming on U.S. 421 in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM – State transportation contractors have planned an overnight lane closure for this weekend on U.S. 421 in Forsyth County.

The outside lane of southbound U.S. 421 will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (Exit 232) and Lowery Street (Exit 231) from 8 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday.

The closure is needed for crews to safely pour concrete footings for a new highway sign.

Drivers who use this stretch of U.S. 421 during the closure should slow down and be mindful of the crews at work. People wishing to avoid the lane reduction can use N.C. 66, Interstate 40 and U.S. 52 as alternative routes.

This is part of ongoing work on the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
