SHELBY – As work continues on the Shelby Bypass in Cleveland County, a temporary closure will be needed this weekend on N.C.180/North Post Road between Airport Road and N.C.150/Cherryville Road, so crews can safely continue bridge work.
The closure will take place from 5 a.m. Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday. The road could open earlier, depending on work progress.
Drivers will follow a posted detour using N.C.150/Cherryville Road, U.S. 74 Business/N.C. 150/East Marion Street, North Dekalb Street and N.C. 18 along East Grover Street and Fallston Road to access either side of N.C. 180
Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
