RALEIGH — As part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close the exit ramp from I-440 East at the Jones Franklin Road interchange tonight.
The ramp will be closed between midnight and 6 a.m. tomorrow so crews can install a breakdown area along the side of the ramp. The closure is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers will follow a detour to Hillsborough Street to turn around and come back to exit at Jones Franklin Road.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay extra attention as they travel through the work zone.
