RALEIGH — As part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to close two ramps at the Wade Avenue interchange overnight.
The ramp from I-440 West to westbound Wade Avenue (Exit 4) will close tonight from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. tomorrow to allow crews to restripe the ramp.
A detour will lead drivers to exit at Hillsborough Street (Exit 3), turn left, and then take I-440 East back to Wade Avenue (Exit 4).
The loop from westbound Wade Avenue to I-440 West will close at the same time for the same work.
Drivers will follow a detour to Blue Ridge Road to turn around and then access I-440 West.
This work is weather dependent, and the rain date is planned for the following night.
Motorists should allow extra time to navigate the detour and slow down and pay attention throughout the work zone.
