DURHAM – Work on the East End Connector project will require a closure Wednesday night for N.C. 98 (Holloway Street) at the U.S. 70 interchange in Durham.
The contractor will be completing bridge deck overhang installation on the new U.S. 70 bridge over N.C. 98, so for the safety of drivers and construction workers, the closure will be in place from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday.
Traffic will be detoured around the closure using Hoover Road, Cheek Road, Geer Street and Miami Boulevard.
Drivers should anticipate need more time to travel in the area because of the detour.
The East End Connector is estimated to be completed by the end of the year. It will help provide an interstate link between the Durham Freeway and Interstate 85.
