Blue Ridge Road Ramp to Wade Avenue to Close Overnight

RALEIGH — As part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to close the ramp from Blue Ridge Road to eastbound Wade Avenue tonight.

The ramp will close from 9:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. tomorrow to allow crews to perform work on the new ramp.

A detour will direct drivers west on Wade Avenue to Edwards Mill Road to turn around and get on eastbound Wade Avenue.

Access to I-40 (Exits 1A and 1B), Walnut Street (Exit 101A) and Buck Jones Road/Crossroads Boulevard (Exit 101B) from I-440 West/U.S. 1 South will also close tonight from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Detours will lead drivers to continue south on U.S. 1 to turn around at Cary Parkway (Exit 99) while work is performed on the collector lanes for those exits.

This work is weather dependent, and the rain date is planned for the following night.

Motorists should allow extra time to navigate the detour and slow down and pay attention throughout the work zone.
