GREENSBORO – State transportation contract crews have planned several ramp closures as part of the ongoing project to improve Interstate 73 in Greensboro.
The closures are scheduled from midnight to 6 a.m. for the following days and locations:
- Thursday and Friday, the ramp from I-73 South for I-85 South (Exit 97 B-C). A signed detour will direct traffic to take Exit 97 A for Business 85 North and take the Holden Road exit to head back on Business 85 South to access to access Groometown Road and I-85 South.
- Friday and Saturday, the ramp from I-73 South for Business 85 North (Exit 97 A). Traffic will be detoured to take I-73/U.S. 220 South (Exit 95) to the Old Randleman Road exit to head back on I-73/U.S. 220 North to access Business 85 North.
- Saturday and Sunday, the ramp from I-73 South to I-73/U.S. 220 South (Exit 95). A signed detour will follow I-85 North to South Elm-Eugene Street (Exit 124) to turn around and take I-85 South to I-73/U.S. 220 South.
These closures are all weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in these locations and factor the detours into their commutes.
