RALEIGH — As part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to close the ramp from eastbound Wade Avenue to Blue Ridge Road tonight.
The ramp will close from 9:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. tomorrow to allow crews to remove an overhead sign.
A detour will lead drivers to I-440 West and Hillsborough Street to get back to Blue Ridge Road.
This work is weather dependent, and the rain date is planned for the following night.
Motorists should allow extra time to navigate the detour and slow down and pay attention throughout the work zone.
