OAKBORO– The N.C. Department of Transportation will permanently close N.C. 205 at College Street Tuesday, weather permitting.
The closure is part of a project to modify the First Street/Main Street intersection. N.C. 205 has been realigned to intersect with Main Street rather than Second Street. A traffic signal has also been installed at Main Street/St. Martin Street/N.C. 138.
Contract crews will install guardrail across N.C. 205 near College Street, while state forces will install signage to advise of the closure.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the area.
