RALEIGH – Nearly 70 miles of Central North Carolina roadways will be improved thanks to several contracts recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
The projects call for milling and resurfacing and in most locations shoulder grading or reconstruction. They are all either getting underway or set to begin as early as May 1.
More details on each contract are as follows:
In Randolph County, 23.4 miles along seven sections of U.S. 64 and eight sections of secondary roads. The $4.45 million contract was awarded to the Thompson Arthur division of APAC Atlantic Inc. Work is slated to last through July 2022.
In Randolph County, nearly 19 miles along 10 sections of secondary roads. The Thompson Arthur division of APAC Atlantic Inc. was awarded the $3.15 million contract. Work is expected to be complete by late June 2022.
In Randolph County, nearly 23.1 miles across eight sections of secondary roads. Blythe Construction Inc. was awarded the $3.09 million contract. Work is expected to be complete by late June 2022.
In Moore County, 2.2 miles of U.S. 1. Fred Smith Company was awarded the $1.16 million contract and the work is scheduled to be complete by mid-November 2021.
