LUMBERTON – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Interstate 95 South between mile markers 33 and 25 near St. Pauls to repair the driving surface of two bridges.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday and end at 6 a.m. Thursday. Drivers will be detoured at Exit 33 onto U.S. 301 and re-emerge on I-95 at Exit 25.
The I-95 southbound bridges at Exit 31 and mile marker 30 will be repaired.
Motorists should slow down and expect delays using the detour.
NCDOT employees will repair concrete spalling on the deck. Spalling occurs as normal wear when some of the surface deteriorates, breaks or chips away – similar to the formation of a pothole on an asphalt road.
