I-40 Rehab Work to Resume After Holiday

WINSTON-SALEM – After pausing over Memorial Day weekend, the Interstate 40 pavement rehabilitation and bridge preservation project in Forsyth County is set to resume Tuesday.

Weather permitting, the following nighttime lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. so crews can conduct the work safely.

  • June 1-2: One of two lanes of I-40 West is set to close from High Point Road (mile marker 198) to I-74 (mile marker 195).
  • June 1-3: One of two lanes of Hanes Mall Boulevard is set to close for drivers headed south near I-40.
  • June 3: Two of three lanes of I-40 West are scheduled to be closed from Main Street (mile marker 193) to just west of Stratford Road (mile marker 188.5).

Drivers should obey posted signage in the work zones and be mindful of crews working close to the travel lanes in these areas.
