RALEIGH — N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews are planning closures tonight at the Western Boulevard and Wade Avenue interchanges as a part of the Interstate 440 Improvements Project.
From midnight until 5 a.m. tomorrow, the exit loop from I-440 West to eastbound Western Boulevard (Exit 2A) will close to allow crews to patch potholes.
A detour will lead drivers to exit at Melbourne Road (Exit 1D) to turn around and then take I-440 East back to Western Boulevard.
The loop from eastbound Wade Avenue to I-440 East will also be closed at the same time for asphalt repairs.
Drivers will be detoured to Ridge Road and Lake Boone Trail to access I-440 East.
Motorists need to pay attention near the work zones and anticipate needing extra time for the detours.
