Closures Planned for Friday Night at U.S. 70/Holloway Street Interchange

DURHAM — N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are set to close Holloway Street and its ramps at the U.S. 70 interchange in Durham on Friday night for paving.

Beginning at 8 p.m., Holloway Street between Hardee Street and Hoover Road and the ramps to and from U.S. 70 will be closed.

A detour will lead drivers on Holloway Street to use Hardee Street, Cheek Road, Muldee Street and Hoover Road to access U.S. 70 or to get back on Holloway Street on either side of the closure.

Drivers on U.S. 70 wishing to access Holloway Street will be directed to Cheek Road (Exit 286) and then follow the detour above to reach Holloway Street.

Holloway Street and the ramps to and from U.S. 70 are scheduled to reopen by 7 a.m. Saturday.

Lane closures will remain in place throughout Saturday as pavement markings will be installed on Saturday evening. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Drivers should pay extra attention and allow extra time to navigate around the work zone.
