BELMONT – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close lanes on Interstate 85 in Gaston County over the weekend for a bridge inspection.
On Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon, two of three lanes will be closed near Exit 26 on I-85 South to allow crews to inspect damage to the bridge over the highway after an excavator struck it Wednesday.
Drivers should use caution while traveling through this area and plan for delays.
