WAKE FOREST — N.C. Department of Transportation crews plan to close the railroad crossing on Ligon Mill Road between Burlington Mills Road and U.S. 1-A/Main Street on Oct. 7 for repairs.
The closure, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end by 5 p.m., is necessary to replace the timbers at the crossing. This improvement will result in a much smoother drive.
A signed detour will use Burlington Mills Road, U.S. 1 and Main Street to get around the closure.
Drivers should allow extra time for the detour and pay extra attention while driving near the work zone.
