Ramp Closure Planned for I-40 in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close an exit on Interstate-40 in Forsyth County over the weekend as part of the ongoing I-40 rehabilitation project, weather permitting.

On Friday at 9 p.m., the ramp from I-40 East to Peters Creek Parkway (Exit 192) will be closed. The closure is necessary for crews to make improvements to the ramp’s shoulders, slopes and drainage structures. The closure will remain until 5 a.m. Monday.

A signed detour will be in place that directs traffic to continue on I-40 East to U.S. 52 North (Exit 193 B), cross over the bridge and merge onto I-40 West (Exit 107 B) to return to Peters Creek Parkway.

Motorists should use caution in the area and plan accordingly for delays due to the detour.
