DURHAM — N.C. Department of Transportation contractors have a series of closures planned tonight for the Durham Freeway (N.C. 147) between Ellis Road (Exit 8) and Briggs Avenue (Exit 10).
On the southbound side, one lane will be closed in the vicinity of Briggs Avenue at 8 p.m. for milling operations.
At around 10 p.m., both northbound lanes will close as crews begin work in the opposite direction. Traffic will be detoured onto Ellis Road to Cornwallis Road to N.C. 55 and Alston Avenue to return to the Durham Freeway.
All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. tomorrow.
