Join NCGHSP and Partners for Safety City at the N.C. State Fair

​RALEIGH – Join the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program and its partners from Oct. 14-24 at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh for Safety City. 

Safety City is an exhibit that educates fairgoers about safe driving behaviors such as sober driving and always buckling up. The exhibit also features rail and boat safety tips. 

The exhibit is a joint effort between state agencies, law enforcement and nonprofit organizations. 

In addition to North Carolina law enforcement agencies that will display vehicles at Safety City, the following organizations will have interactive displays and promotional materials at the booth. Stop by to learn more about each:

• BikeSafeNC will have experts on hand to discuss motorcycle safety;
• The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will showcase their Mothers Against Drunk Driving vehicle;
  
• Forensic Tests for Alcohol​ will display their Breath Alcohol Testing Unit, commonly referred to as the BAT Mobile;
• The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will display a law enforcement boat, hand out the popular Wildlife in NC buttons and have available copies of the NC Regulations Digest;
• The N.C. ABC Commission/Talk It Out NC will offer information and items geared at educating attendees about underage drinking; 
• The N.C. Department of Insurance’s Safe Kids NC program will be available to demonstrate proper child passenger safety;
  
• Other participants include N.C. Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Vehicle Injury Prevention for a Very Important Person, NCDOT Rail and Safety and Risk Management, CHOICES 4 CHASE, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement​ and local and county law enforcement agencies.
  

Safety City is located at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds behind the Kerr Scott Building at 4285 Trinity Road in Raleigh. Enter through Gate 9 for easy access.
