WINSTON-SALEM – Tonight, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will temporarily close a ramp on U.S. 52 in Forsyth County for a maintenance project.
Starting at 9 p.m., the exit from U.S. 52 South to access U.S. 421 East (Exit 109A) will be closed. Work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. tomorrow. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely repair cracks on the ramp. Work was originally scheduled for Nov. 15-17, but was delayed due to cold weather preventing materials from working properly.
Message boards and a signed detour will be in place for the duration of the closure. Traffic needing to access U.S. 421 East will use Exit 108A to get on Research Parkway, turn onto U.S. 52 North and take Exit 109A.
Motorists should use caution when approaching the work zone and plan for delays while using the detour.
