CONCORD – Contract crews for the N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a lane next week on U.S. 29/601 South where it meets Poplar Tent Road/McGill Street, weather permitting.
The southbound right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday so crews can perform geotechnical work for a future project in development to replace the bridge at this location.
Additional closures may be scheduled to work on the northbound side. Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
