LATTIMORE – Starting next week, N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close a Cleveland County road for five months to replace a bridge.
On Dec. 6, the bridge on Padgett Road over Mayne Creek will be closed. The bridge needs to be replaced due to its age and condition. Work is expected to be complete by April 2022.
Motorists will use a signed detour following Crowder Road, Cornwell Road, Hugh Harrell Road, Johnnie Bridges Road, Stockton Street, Main Street and return back to Padgett Road.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the area and plan for delays due to the detour.
