Nightly Closures Planned Along I-40 in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM – Starting this weekend and continuing next week, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close lanes of Interstate 40 in Forsyth County for an ongoing rehabilitation and bridge preservation project, weather permitting.

The following nightly closures are planned from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
  • On Jan. 14 and 16, two of three lanes of I-40 West will be closed from west of Peters Creek Parkway to Hanes Mall Boulevard.
  • On Jan. 17-18, two of three lanes of I-40 East will be closed from the I-40/421 split to Hanes Mall Boulevard.
  • On Jan. 19-20, two of three lanes of I-40 East will be closed from Hanes Mall Boulevard to Peters Creek Parkway.
Motorists should remain cautious when traveling through the work zones and plan for delays.​
