WINSTON-SALEM – Starting this weekend and continuing into next week, an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close sections of Interstate 40 in Forsyth County for an ongoing rehabilitation and bridge preservation project, weather permitting.
The following lane closures are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- From March 27-29, two of three lanes on I-40 West are scheduled to be closed from U.S. 52 to east of Peters Creek Parkway.
- From March 27-28, one of two lanes on I-40 West are scheduled to be closed from east of Highway 66 to west of Highway 66.
- From March 27-29, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Highway 66 to east of Highway 66.
- On March 29, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from the U.S. 421/I-40 split to west of Peters Creek Parkway.
From 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning, the Stratford Road bridge over I-40 will have one of two southbound lanes closed on March 27 and 28, and one of the two northbound lanes closed on March 29.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
