WELCOME – The N.C. Department of Transportation will be closing a road in Davidson County for three months starting next week.
Beginning Monday, Welcome-Arcadia Road will be closed to through traffic between Pickett Road and Dr. Zimmerman Road while crews replace the bridge over Reedy Creek. Work is expected to be complete by July 29.
Motorists will use a signed detour following Pickett Road, Craver Road, and Dr. Zimmerman Road back to Welcome-Arcadia Road or Craver Road, Old U.S. 52 and Dr. Zimmerman Road back to Welcome-Arcadia Road.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead for delays due to the detours.
