CHARLOTTE – Tonight, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will continue a $26 million project to improve bridges along 1.3 miles of Interstate 277 between Tenth Street and I-77.
Drivers should stay alert for lane closures on the outer loop tonight and Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews remove the friction course layer from the road to perform bridge repairs.
Ramp closures will resume Wednesday night in the following areas:
- Wednesday – from the outer loop to North Tryon Street and from Caldwell Street to the outer loop
- Thursday – from Church and West Twelfth streets to the outer loop
- Friday – direct connect ramp from I-77 South express lanes to the inner loop
