RALEIGH — Drivers can expect to encounter a detour on Johnson Pond Road in Fuquay-Varina next week for utility work.
The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close the road at 9 a.m. Tuesday between Accipiter Court and Skyfall Drive to allow crews to safely replace a crossline pipe.
The detour will use Old Mills Road and Hilltop Needmore Road to get around the closure.
Weather permitting, Johnson Pond Road is scheduled reopen by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Drivers should allow extra time for the detour and pay extra attention while driving near the work zone.
