LELAND – A Brunswick County bridge will be closed to traffic for a couple of days this week for maintenance.
The bridge on Old Fayetteville Road across Sturgeon Creek will close at 9 a.m. Tuesday and reopen by 4 p.m. the same day. The road will close during the same times Wednesday. During the closure, state Transportation Department maintenance crews will replace bridge joists.
Drivers will be detoured onto U.S. 74/76 and Lanvale Road NE and it should be considered when planning travel, as it will take longer than normal.
NCDOT also encourages drivers to use caution and slow down near the work zone.
