WINSTON-SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close lanes on Interstate 40 in Forsyth County tonight and tomorrow for an ongoing rehabilitation and bridge preservation project, weather permitting.
The following nightly closures are scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- From June 28-29, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from U.S. 52 to west of Peters Creek Parkway.
- On June 28, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from the Guilford County line to Union Cross Road.
- On June 29, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Highway 66 to the Guilford County Line.
The following nightly closures are scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning:
- On June 28, the ramp from Peters Creek Parkway to I-40 West is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
- On June 29, the ramp from Highway 66 to I-40 East is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and plan accordingly for delays.
