WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will be implementing ramp and lane closures on Interstate 40 for ongoing construction and maintenance projects, weather permitting.
The following closures are scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- From Aug. 2-3, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from U.S. 52 to east of Hanes Mall Boulevard.
- From Aug 2-3, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from Clemmonsville Road to Willard Road.
- On Aug. 2, the ramp from NC-109/Thomasville Road to I-40 East is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
- On Aug. 4, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from Willard Road to Clemmonsville Road.
- On Aug. 4, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from Peters Creek Parkway to west of Stratford Road.
- On Aug. 4, the exit ramp (Exit 195) from I-40 West to N.C. 109/Thomasville Road is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
The following closures are scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:
- From Aug. 2-4, one of two southbound lanes are scheduled to be closed on the Union Cross Road bridge over I-40.
- From Aug. 2-3, the exit ramp (Exit 192) from I-40 West to Peters Creek Parkway is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
- From Aug. 2-3, the ramp from Peters Creek Parkway to I-40 West is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and plan accordingly for delays.
