This Week at NCDOT: Thanksgiving Holiday Travel, Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket

RALEIGH – The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation. The stories below are also featured in NCDOT Now, the department's weekly newscast.

Thanksgiving Holiday Travel

NCDOT is suspending most construction activity along major highways to keep traffic flowing for holiday travel.

Most work along interstates, U.S., and key state routes is suspended through the evening of Nov. 28.

Some projects will continue with work that doesn't impact travel lanes.

Don't forget, before you hit the road, check out driveNC.gov for real-time, up to date traffic information.

Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket

The Governor's Highway Safety Program is launching its annual Thanksgiving Click It or Ticket campaign. Law enforcement agencies will increase the number of patrols, setting up checking stations, and using local media to reach out to drivers.

There will also be check points in place to watch for drivers speeding, driving while impaired, and not wearing their seatbelt.
