Public Meeting Scheduled for Old Monroe Road Project

INDIAN TRAIL – The N.C. Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting next week to present design updates included in a project to widen Old Monroe Road in the vicinity of Wesley Chapel Stouts Road in Indian Trail. These improvements are part of a larger project to expand the corridor between Trade Street and Wesley Chapel Stouts Road in Mecklenburg and Union counties.

The public meeting will run from 5-7 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the Indian Trail Elementary School Auditorium, 200 Education Road. People may attend the meeting at any time to learn more about the project and speak with members of the project team.

Project details, including maps and a video, can be found on the NCDOT project web page: https://www.ncdot.gov/projects/east-john-old-monroe. There will not be a formal presentation at the meeting.

People who cannot attend the meeting may submit comments in writing, by phone or email through March 2. All comments received will be reviewed and considered for the final design. More information is also available on the project website.
