PILOT MOUNTAIN - A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close one lane of a bridge on U.S. 52 in Surry County this week.
The closure, which will be from mile marker 139 to 134 heading south, will begin at 8 a.m. Jan. 25 and is scheduled to be completed Jan. 27, weather permitting.
Crews will be repairing spalling, a condition in which the concrete on the bridge deck has broken, flaked or eroded.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and remain alert when approaching the work zone.
