KING – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a portion of a Stokes County road next week for a one-month maintenance project.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on May 30, Newsome Road will be closed in both directions near its intersection with Meadowbrook Drive. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely replace a crossline pipe under the road.
Traffic will follow a signed detour using Meadowbrook Drive and Newsome Road.
All work is expected to be complete by June 30.
Drivers should use extra caution and allow extra time while using the detour.
