RALEIGH – Overnight closures are planned for the week ahead as part of the ongoing Interstate 440 improvements project in western Raleigh.
Eastbound Wade Avenue is set to close nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday so crews can safely finish demolishing the old I-440 West bridge at the interchange. The work is weather dependent, so the schedule is subject to change.
During the closure, eastbound Wake Avenue traffic will be directed to take I-440 West to Hillsborough Street (Exit 3) and head back up I-440 East to return to Wade Avenue.
Drivers should be mindful of crews throughout the work zone and factor the short detour into the trips.
