CHARLOTTE – Tonight, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will continue a project on the Brookshire Freeway end of Interstate 277, requiring overnight closures.
Pavement rehabilitation work requires closing the ramp from U.S. 74 West to the outer loop (exit 242) and two lanes on the outer loop between U.S. 74 and N. Davidson Street from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through Friday morning.
Additional ramp closures may be needed as work progresses through the week.
Intermittent lane closures will also be implemented on Interstate 77 near mile marker 9 so crews can perform bridge work at the southern end of I-277, like closures that took place earlier this month.
The closures will be installed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday- Friday nights so crews can work on the bridge bents above the barrier wall.
Drivers are urged to be cautious when approaching this stretch of I-77 and be mindful of the crews working close to the travel lanes.
All closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
