DENTON – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close a road in Davidson County for about five months for a bridge replacement project.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Aug. 1, Slate Mine Road will be closed between N.C. 109 and N.C. 49 to allow crews to replace the bridge that carries traffic over Beaverdam Creek. Work is expected to be complete by the end of December.
Traffic will be detoured to N.C. 109 and N.C. 49 to return to Slate Mine Road.
Motorists are advised to use extra caution and plan accordingly for delays due to the detour.
