CONCORD – The N.C. Department of Transportation is starting a bridge rehabilitation project this month on Stough Road over Wolf Meadow Branch in Concord.
State forces will close the bridge to traffic Monday morning, Aug. 21. The closure will last approximately 12 weeks, allowing crews to replace the existing bridge with a wider structure featuring 12-foot travel lanes.
Drivers will be detoured from Stough Road to N.C. 49 and Roberta Road, returning to Stough Road. A separate detour will be posted for trucks utilizing N.C. 49, U.S. 601, U.S. 29 and George Liles Parkway, returning to Stough Road.
