RALEIGH - The North Carolina Turnpike Authority is constructing the eastern portion of the Complete 540 Project, which will extend the Triangle Expressway (Toll N.C. 540) from Interstate 40 to Interstate 87.
East Garner Road will experience temporary overnight lane closures to allow standard geotechnical testing on the project. Beginning on or around March 21 through March 22 and March 25 through March 27, temporary overnight intermittent lane closures will be in place on East Garner Road between Hill Haven Drive and Rock Quarry Road. The lane closures are scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. and end by 5:00 a.m. on each day of the scheduled work.
At the closure, East Garner Road will operate as a single-lane roadway with alternating traffic flow. Flaggers and signage will guide drivers through the closure. The temporary overnight closure is weather dependent. Drivers should slow down and pay attention when navigating the work zone.
