BATH – One section of the bridge on N.C. 92 spanning Bath Creek in Beaufort County will be replaced soon.
The highway will close to traffic at 8 a.m. March 26, and is anticipated to reopen prior to Memorial Day weekend. During construction, crews will replace the center bridge span, which has corroded.
Signs will be posted, alerting drivers to the closure and to follow a detour onto U.S. 246, Boyd Road, Post Road and Jackson Swamp Road to avoid the construction.
Drivers should plan ahead as their commute will take longer than normal and use caution around the work site.
