WINSTON SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will implement nightly lane and ramp closures this week on Interstate 40 in Forsyth County for ongoing work as part of the Winston Salem Northern Beltway Project, weather permitting.
The closures are necessary for crews to safely reposition concrete barrier wall and fill rumble strip.
The following closure will take place on Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- The I-40 Westbound left lane will be closed from Union Cross Road to Highpoint Road.
The following closures will take place on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.:
- The I-40 Westbound right lane will be closed from Union Cross Road to High Point Road.
- The on ramp from Union Cross Road to I-40 west will be closed with a detour.
To avoid the work, drivers are encouraged to utilize U.S. 421 (Salem Parkway).
Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
