WARSAW - A Duplin County intersection will be closed to traffic for about two weeks while the N.C. Department of Transportation makes improvements.
Blackmore Road at the intersection with Penny Branch Road will be closed May 20-31.
During the closure, NCDOT will replace a pipe and realign and widen the intersection. These changes will improve safety, functionality and provide trucks a larger area when turning onto Penny Branch Road.
The department suggest drivers on Penny Branch Road take N.C. 117 to Bruce Costin Road. There will be message boards alerting drivers of the work.
Drivers should plan ahead as their commute may take longer than normal and use caution near where crews are working.
