RALEIGH- Contractors with the N.C. Department of Transportation will need to close eastbound Ligon Mill Road where it intersects U.S. 401 starting tonight at 7, weather permitting.The closure will remain in place until 7 p.m. on Wednesday so crews can safely work on the process of boring a 78-inch pipe under U.S. 401.
Traffic will be routed along Burlington Mills Road to Forestville Road to access U.S. 401.
Message boards will be placed at the intersection of Burlington Mills Road and Ligon Mill Road to alert motorists of the closure.
Transportation officials remind drivers to stay alert and obey all posted traffic signs.
