ROXBORO – More than 14 miles of roadway will get upgraded thanks to a $2.4 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
The lowest bidder, Carolina Sunrock LLC out of Raleigh, will mill and resurface roads, and reconstruct shoulders along U.S. 158 between John D. Winstead Road and the Caswell County line and six secondary roads:
- Jim Morton Road from N.C. 49 to Union Grove Church Road
- Blalock Dairy Road from U.S. 158 to N.C. 49
- Hesters Store Road from N.C. 49 to Rolling Hills Road/Frank Whitfield Road
- West Morehead Street from North Madison Boulevard to North Main Street
- East Morehead Street from North Main Street to Foushee Street
- Loftis Loop at Todd Road
Work can begin as early as late summer 2024 and is expected to be finished in the fall of 2025.
