STALLINGS – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close a section of Pleasant Plains Road between Old Monroe and Potter roads next week, weather permitting.
The closure is part of a $9 million intersection improvement project the Department awarded in March. Plans include installing turn lanes on all approaches to the intersection, traffic signal modification, sidewalk, and curb and gutter.
The contract calls for this closure to be in place no more than 30 days. A detour will be posted along Old Monroe and Potter roads, returning to Pleasant Plains Road. Local traffic will be able to get through.
The project is currently scheduled for completion in spring 2026, with vegetation establishment continuing through fall 2026.
