WILMINGTON – To improve drainage in a heavily traveled area of Wilmington, N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will temporarily close a lane of Gordon Road.
The closure will be the right turn lane onto southbound Market Street, heading downtown. Crews must have it closed between 8 p.m. Sept. 29 and 8 p.m. Oct. 9 to install an additional drainage structure in the turn lane.
Drivers needing to turn onto Market Street should seek an alternate route, such as Military Cutoff Road. Drivers should use caution when approaching the area and plan ahead.
This work is part of the Military Cutoff Road extension project.
